About Us

A small Palestinian family team making gentle Islamic content for kids.

A note from Renad Studios

Why we built this

We're a Palestinian brother and sister, born and raised in the United States, now living in Palestine. For years we talked about building something meaningful together, the way siblings do, over coffee, in long phone calls, at family gatherings. Plans turned into more plans. Nothing got made.

Then twins joined the family. A boy and a girl. And suddenly the question of what they were going to grow up watching, listening to, and reading stopped being something we could keep talking about. It needed an answer.

Layth & Layan Love Islam is that answer.

We make Islamic content for kids: stories, duas, songs, games, and videos that we wanted for our own children and couldn't always find. So much of what's out there for young Muslims either talks down to them or leans hard on fear and consequences. We didn't grow up with that kind of faith, and we don't want to hand it to the next generation either. We wanted something gentler. Something that trusted children to be smart, kind, and curious.

What we believe

Character first, not commandments

Islam is the world Layth and Layan live in. They pray, they say bismillah, they learn duas for their morning and night. But the stories are about sharing the last cookie, telling the truth when it would be easier not to, being patient with a little sister. The Islamic values come through the way they actually come through in a child's life: in small moments, gently, by example.

We also believe children deserve beautiful things. Beautiful art. Beautiful music. Stories where the writing is careful and the songs are pleasant to listen to, for parents too. Nothing here was made by template. Every illustration, every story, every nasheed was made because we wanted it to exist.

How to support our work

Most of what we make is free

Our first four Layth & Layan books are free, and they always will be. The duas, the games, the songs, the site itself — also free, also staying that way.

As we grow, we're going to start adding new books and printable extras with a small price, usually a dollar or two. Buying one is the simplest way to help us keep making more.

We're also on YouTube and the streaming platforms. You can watch our videos and listen to our nasheeds right from the site, or follow us on whichever platform you already use. We're a long way from any of that generating income yet, but every view and every stream counts. If your kids love a song, putting it on repeat genuinely helps.

Renad Studios is just the two of us, Ashraf and Salam, and we're doing this slowly, with care. If something here became part of your family's day, the most meaningful thing you can do is share it with another family. Word-of-mouth from people like you is how a project like this actually grows.

If you've made it this far, thank you for reading.
If something resonates, or if you have a story you wish existed, we'd love to hear from you.
